Veil Tulle and Fabrics

By Bobette Kyle-Wagner | February 6, 2008

Veil FabricThe fabric a veil is made from — and how it is woven — determines the look. Silk, nylon, polyester, cotton, organza, chiffon, and point d’esprit are all common veil materials. “Tulle” is the generic term for veil material, with specifics depending on the actual fabric. The most common varieties are made from nylon, rayon, or silk. “Bridal Illusion” — another common veil fabric term — is sheer, soft tulle (finer than netting, but stiffer than silk).
