Your wedding day jewelry

If your gown is low cut in the back, or altogether backless, you may want to dress it up with back jewelry. Your back, after all, will be to your guests during most of the ceremony.
Keep in mind that the intricacy of the necklace should work with your dress. Enhance the look of a simple, unadorned gown with a bold necklace, but opt for a delicate necklace or pearls with an elaborate gown. You can also forego the necklace to show off your gown's neckline.
Each neckline type goes well with different necklace lengths. You will rarely go wrong with the versatile 14 to 16 inch choker-length bridal necklace, but other lengths do not pair as well with all necklines. Try different options, but bear in mind that you want to leave a gap between the necklace and the neckline of the dress. On the other hand, if your gown is simple, it is fine to wear a strand of pearls or necklace that hangs below the neckline.
Here are some other suggestions for selecting a necklace:
A general rule of thumb for bridal wrist jewelry is to go bare, or choose a very delicate bracelet as an accent piece that complements the rest of your jewelry ensemble. An exception is if you are wearing a princess-style tulle gown or an otherwise simple, strapless dress. Consider pairing these gowns with a crystal, cubic zirconium, or diamond-encrusted tennis or cuff bracelet. Experiment to assure a balanced look that reflects your personality and does not detract from the overall tone you are setting for your wedding day. All but the tiniest watches are too clunky for bridal wear, so skip it altogether.
