The cut's reputation is such that today, the term "" is often used as a generic term for other high quality square, emerald-cut diamonds. Originals are cut to very strict specifications and are perfectly symmetrical. The diamonds are also discreetly laser-etched with a logo and ID number and come with certificate of authenticity.
