Whether it is correct for a bridesmaid to wear a tiara depends on a variety of factors, primarily the brides wishes. As a bridesmaid, if you dream of wearing a tiara, tread carefully. Approach the bride with the subject to get her direction. The major concern is to NOT overshadow the bride: a bridesmaids headpiece should be less elaborate than the bridal headpiece.

If you are the bride and are thinking about having your bridesmaids wear tiaras, think in terms of how the hairpieces will fit into the overall wedding look. You may, for example, wish to wear a wide or tall tiara while your bridesmaids wear smaller, lower-profile versions. Or, wear clear rhinestones in yours and order colored crystals or gems in the bridesmaids'.
