Deciding how to DIY your own wedding flowers for bouquets or floral centerpieces? Then you know finding the right fresh flowers at a budget-friendly price can be a real challenge. We’ve solved that dilemma for you in this post!

Here are three arrangements you can reproduce or use as inspiration for your own designs. The links will take you to cost-effective components of each.

Stephany’s DIY Real Flower Bouquet

How to DIY real wedding flowers. Stephany’s friend Olivia created this beautiful rustic bridal bouquet. She used three different flowers and a combination of greenery. There's more about what she used and where she got the flowers in the post. #RusticWedding #DIYBouquet #DIYWeddingFlowers #RusticWeddingBouquet

Stephany’s friend Olivia created this beautiful rustic bridal bouquet. She used three different flowers and a combination of greenery. The beauty of this type of rustic bouquet is it’s somewhat freeform. Asymmetry is part of its appeal. While you do need creative talent, which Olivia clearly possesses, the exact placement of each piece is open to interpretation.

How to Make a Rustic Bridal Bouquet

Here are the steps you can take to build a large bouquet similar to Stephany’s.

  1. Cluster three or four blooms to use as the center. Hold them together by the stems.
  2. Begin adding other flowers around the originals, adjusting as you go. Don’t worry about which way the bottoms point. The top is what’s important.
  3. Keep going, adding flowers somewhat evenly all around, until the floral part is as big as you’d like.
  4. Loosely wrap floral tape around the stems.
  5. Begin adding greenery in the same fashion as you did the flowers. Add some stems inside the tape and some outside it.
  6. Wrap more floral tape around all the stems.
  7. Fuss a bit with the bouquet to get it the shape you want (push and pull from beneath to adjust the height of individual flowers or greenery).
  8. When you are ready, hang the bouquet upside down and secure the stems tightly with more tape.
  9. Wrap and tie burlap, ribbon, twine, or lace around the base for comfort and beauty.

The flowers in Stephany’s bridal bouquet are:

  • Spray Roses at MyOnlineWeddingHelp.com/spray-roses
  • Peonies at MyOnlineWeddingHelp.com/peony

I love how Olivia used a variety of textures and shapes for the greenery. This one has dusty miller leaves, two varieties of eucalyptus, and a spiked leaf similar to cordyline. Find out more about each below:

DIY Tall Flower Wedding Centerpiece

Diy tall centerpiece with curly willow branches. This wedding centerpiece is easier to make than you may think. There's more about what she used and where she got the flowers in the post. #RusticWedding #DIYBouquet #DIYWeddingFlowers #RusticWeddingBouquet

Tall centerpieces can be intimidating. Lyuba did not let that stop her when she made these beautiful centerpieces for her friend’s wedding. Keeping the number of components low made the arrangements easier to assemble.

This one has only three ingredients: one flower, one filler, one branch. To make these centerpieces, first, gather garden roses into a simple bouquet as the base. If your budget does not allow roses, you can substitute cheaper flowers such as carnations or hydrangeas. Then add height by inserting willow branches. Use stems filled with growth top to bottom as the filler. Gladiolus, a flower, and Israeli ruscus, a greenery, both fit the bill.
