Wedding Ring Tradition

Did you know that the traditional two ring ceremony is a recent phenomenon? In modern-day U.S., we are so accustomed to the three “left hand” rings –the woman’s engagement ring, her wedding ring, and the man’s wedding band — that it’s hard to imagine anything else. Throughout history around the world, the ring(s) were worn on different fingers and could symbolize something other than undying love.
